Notes for season 1 episode 6 “The Fix”
16:53 “Interference suggests it was made on an old PCS cell network making the recording at least two years old.” It would actually have been more than three years old – this is referencing the shutdown of the 1G analog AMPS cell-phone network in the US between February and September 2008. (By comparison the UK analog network was switched off in 2001.)
27:14 I feel like I’ve played this video game mission, where you monitor cctv and tell infiltrators when it’s safe to move.
29:00 Reese’s USB drive contains a tool to do plaintext diffs between pdf files. Which isn’t a sci-fi interface, but one I could have used in the past.
29:30 Based on several deaths during a 200 person drug trial, Zoe extrapolates a mortality rate? Also, even if the company hid pre-knowledge of the effects, why would they still attempt to bring it to market? What was the plan there?
36:33 Love that the goon dutifully knocks any bubbles out of the syringe containing the fatal injection.
40:20 Finch reveals that he’s using insider knowledge of the company to short its stock. Which seems like the sort of thing you’d avoid confessing to someone about to be charged with fraud?
